The Patriots offense is a mess
The Patriots offense was supposed to be much better this season. They were supposed to take a step forward now that they had an actual offensive coordinator running things. The first 5 games of 2023 haven’t quite worked out that way, however. New England is averaging just 11 points per game, good for dead last in the NFL.
Sunday’s shutout against the Saints was a complete team effort and very much in line with what we’ve seen all season. The (banged up) offensive line was embarrassingly bad. Receivers couldn’t get open vs. man coverage. Mac Jones made two more game-changing mistakes. How the 49ers neutralized Micah Parsons
The Cowboys defense goes through Micah Parsons. And because he can be such a game-wrecker, it’s imperative that offenses account for him as the focal point of their gameplan.
Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers did just that on Sunday Night, allowing Brock Purdy to pick the secondary apart on the way to a 42-10 blowout of the Cowboys. Parsons was held without a sack or an impact play.

12 Thoughts from Sunday's Week 5 Games
What a bounce-back performance by Desmond Ridder. It was starting to look like Atlanta was going to need to make a change at quarterback. Then Ridder went out and completed 28 of 37 passes for 329 yards, a touchdown, and a last-minute game-winning drive. On throws over 20 yards from the line of scrimmage, he completed 4 of 4 passes for 103 yards. So his numbers didn’t just come from dink and dunk throws with yards after the catch.
